Hello Magazine
Oscar Winning George Clooney's sideboard must be creaking with statuettes by now.  He's just received the Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award -- a nod to his film Good Night, and Good Luck, about battling censorship -- on legendary US journalist Walter's 90th Birthday.    (Thanks to Josan!)

George, Walter and Me

Here's another Blogger's account of their evening at the Faith and Freedom Gala

I got to hang out with George Clooney and Walter Cronkite this week at the annual dinner of the Interfaith Alliance Foundation.   Okay, I'm exaggerating...but I did get to meet each of them and have my picture taken. Mine didn't come out very well, but I'll post one if they send it to me. It was thrilling talking with Walter Cronkite about his father founding the first Unitarian church in Houston, T exas, and George...well let's just say I think every woman there was thrilled to have their two minutes with him. George Clooney laughs it up as he gets recognized for his work on and off screen! GEORGE CLOONEY was in New York City as he was honored Wednesday night with the WALTER CRONKITE Faith and Freedom Award in conjunction with the Interfaith Alliance.  Despite receiving the enviable honor, George couldn't resist getting in a few jokes. "I don't care for Walter Cronkite," he muses. "And I don't know why he's so trusted!" The nearly 90-year-old newsman Cronkite presented the award to the Oscar winner, who was recognized for his socially conscious ways as well as his leadership in the film industry.  (ET Online)
